Custom casting for interiors, made by hand in New York since 1918

We make lamp bases, decorative objects, furniture pieces and architectural moldings for interior designers and architects. Bring us a drawing, a sketch or an object, and we'll make the mold, cast a prototype for your approval, then produce one piece or a full run. Plaster, resin, concrete and metal, finished to your spec in our Long Island City studio.

What we make

  • Lighting: plaster and resin lamp bases, shades and sconces, cast to your design.

  • Decorative objects: vessels, sculptures, wall pieces and accessories, as one-offs or editions.

  • Furniture: side tables, stools, benches and mantels in plaster, concrete or resin. The concrete Louis XIV sofas and chairs for Liz Glynn's Open House show the scale we work at.

  • Architectural: crown moldings, cornices, ceiling medallions and ornament, new or matched to an original. We ran the moldings for Carnegie Hall's 1985 restoration by hand.

How a project works

  1. Brief. Send a drawing, sketch, reference photo or existing object, with dimensions, quantity, finish and deadline.

  2. Quote. We reply with a price and schedule within 2 business days.

  3. Model and mold. We sculpt or adapt the model, then make the mold by hand in silicone, urethane or plaster.

  4. Prototype. We cast a first piece in your chosen material and finish. You review it in person or by photo, and we adjust until it's right.

  5. Production. We cast the run, finish each piece by hand, and pack it for delivery or pickup.

Materials and finishes

  • Plaster and gypsum: plaster, Hydrocal, Ultracal, FGR-95, GFRG, Aqua-Resin.

  • Concrete: concrete and GFRC, pigmented to color.

  • Resin: cold-cast bronze, iron, marble, sandstone or limestone; solid or translucent colors; painted.

  • Metal: bronze, stainless steel, aluminum.

Colors can be matched to your spec.

Lighting

We cast lamp bases, shades and sconce bodies to your design. We don't wire them: your electrician or lighting fabricator wires and certifies the finished lamp.

Lamp bases in any size, and editions of matching pieces for hotels and multi-room projects.
